Clinical Criteria Summary

Inadequately controlled symptoms associated with chronic rhinosinusitis (with or without nasal polyps) despite use of and adherence to intranasal steroid and choose to use nasal steroid/saline irrigation/rinse.
Saline solution must be prepared by adding salt packets to either distilled water or tap water that has been boiled for 5 minutes and allowed to cool before use to ensure the budesonide/saline nasal irrigation is safe and free from potential contaminants.
Providers should order Neilmed sinus rinse kit and saline packet refills for mixing with budesonide respules.

Patient had an inadequate response to or is unable to tolerate fluticasone propionate nasal inhaler/spray
