Document 775: Budesonide Inhalation Suspension Criteria for Nasal Steroid Saline Irrigation May 2026

Exclusion Criteria

  • None

Inclusion Criteria

  • Inadequately controlled symptoms associated with chronic rhinosinusitis (with or without nasal polyps) despite use of and adherence to intranasal steroid and choose to use nasal steroid/saline irrigation/rinse.
  • Saline solution must be prepared by adding salt packets to either distilled water or tap water that has been boiled for 5 minutes and allowed to cool before use to ensure the budesonide/saline nasal irrigation is safe and free from potential contaminants.
  • Providers should order Neilmed sinus rinse kit and saline packet refills for mixing with budesonide respules.
